When is it Appropriate to Wear a Novelty Tie?
The way you dress sends a message regardless of what the situation is. whether you are in a business meeting or walking in the park, what you wear signifies who you are. When it comes to picking out a tie, there is a wide range of styles to choose from. the question is when is it appropriate to wear a novelty tie?
A novelty tie is seen as something humorous and jokester-like. Typically these are funny ties that have cartoon characters on them or some kind of joke. some novelty ties are not necessarily humorous, but have some other kind of design on them like a football or basketball team logo.
While there are several different occasions that to which you would wear a tie, not all of them are appropriate for a novelty tie. for instance, you would not want to give a business presentation with a tie that has daffy duck on it. It may send the wrong message; and could get the boss riled up.
The same holds true for any serious or business occasion. for instance, you would probably not want to go to Church or a funeral with a funny tie of some sort. In general, you want to go with a more appropriate tie when the time calls for being serious.
If you work at an office where ties are required, this can be an appropriate place to wear a funny tie. As mentioned above, you do not want to wear one if you have a presentation to give. But mixing it up in the office and being lighthearted can actually be good. It can lighten the mood if things are getting too stuffy in the office.
Another great place where you could possibly wear novelty neckties is at a wedding. a wedding is a time to laugh and have a good time. if you are the best man you probably will not have a choice, but simply attending the wedding can be perfect for a funny necktie.
So why would you wear one in the first place? As mentioned, these ties can lighten the mood and get a good laugh. if you are an easy going guy that likes to have a good time, novelty neckties are perfect. Women are also wearing neckties nowadays. they allow you to put your personality into the outfit. why wear a bland solid tie if you are the type of person who likes to get attention and joke around?
What you wear says a lot about you; even if it is with a nice outfit. there are certain places that funny ties are not appropriate. But if the time is ok, mix it up and sport a novelty necktie to set the mood and have a good time.
