RIVERSIDE, Calif., January 10, 2012 – Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today announced that it has released a series of new product options to its industry-leading line of guitar potentiometers. Bourns has developed a specialty line of potentiometers for electric and bass guitars to upgrade these instruments for improved sound quality, reliability and longevity. The following five new model options will be showcased in Bourns’ booth #5696 at the upcoming NAMM Show, January 19-22, 2012 in Anaheim, California.

The “no load” guitar potentiometer is designed with a long-wearing insulator and a positive action detent for improved reliability. The left-handed potentiometers have special reverse audio tapers and a logarithmic curve specifically designed for excellent volume response at all positions along the potentiometer. The long bushing potentiometers are excellent for use in solid body guitars and work in all types of electric or bass guitars, with or without a push-pull switch.

This season Hasbro is delivering a fresh innovative line of Transformers 3 toys to capture the hearts of fans. There are unique toys being designed for little ones in mind. There is a fresh Mechtech line which includes interchangeable weapons. Consequently there is the newly developed Cyberverse line which is made up of toys having hassle-free transformations. Virtually all of your treasured characters from both the Autobots and Deceopticons are available. You can be sure you can find Optimus Prime and Megatron. There are actually particular heroes that made an appearance within the movie. There is actually a line of role playing toys. And then there are toys exclusively made for the movie. Children can actually buy cine play masks that have already 3d glasses built in.

The most sought for after range is definitely the MechTech line. The groundbreaking line leads the Transformers 3 toy. Every figure is furnished with a MECHTECH weapon. The classes include the Legion and Commander classes. All of these toys have the ability to transform from robot into vehicle. In all there are more than 20 or so toys to find. The toys and play sets are each offered separately.

The final line of Transformers 3 toys would be the Robo power toys. These gadgets are for young kids that haven’t yet got a grip on transforming their toys. There are masks along with other role play items for sale in this line toys. Each mask and role play item comes separately.

Bourns® LED Shunt Protectors

RIVERSIDE, Calif., February 15, 2011 – Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today announced a new line of open LED shunt protection devices designed specifically for LED lighting applications. Designated the Bourns® LSP-Series, the new shunt protector family enables LED lighting applications configured in strings to be more robust and reliable. Most LED designs include solid-state lighting luminaries configured in series strings of 20 or more LEDs. In this configuration, an open LED can cause the entire LED string to go dark, resulting in reduced performance and possible maintenance calls and costly warranty returns. Adding a Bourns® LSP-Series shunt protector to an LED design allows the unaffected lights in the string to remain illuminated by shunting current around the inoperable LED. The new LSP-Series of open LED shunt protectors are an optimal solution for a variety of LED lighting applications including light bulbs, lighting fixtures and backlighting systems.

“LED lighting applications are exploding in volume,” said Ian Doyle, product line manager of semiconductor products at Bourns, Inc. “Bourns’ new LSP-Series of open LED shunt protectors address the failure rates of early LED designs. Incorporating a Bourns® LSP device into the design of LEDs improves reliability and helps eliminate costly downtime.”

The Bourns® LSP-Series of open LED shunt protectors include four models: LSP0600BJR-S, LSP0900BJR-S, LSP1300BJR-S and LSP1800BJR-S. Customers can maximize the level of protection by selecting Bourns® model LSP0600BJR-S and using one device per LED. Alternatively, customers can reduce their protection costs by selecting Bourns® models LSP0900BJR-S, LSP1300BJR-S or LSP1800BJR-S that are able to isolate groups of two, three or four LEDs respectively. Bourns’ new device family comes in an SMB surface mount package and is RoHS* compliant.  Product samples are available now through Bourns’ distribution partners. As a pricing example, Bourns® LSP0600BJR-S is priced at $.30 each in 10K piece quantities.
