Construct a Wind Generator to Generate Electrical Power and Reduce Your Electricity Bills

Posted by jakeandtycho - August 30th, 2010

Windmill generator at home is a kind of alternative power source which can supply electric power for your house at a really cheap cost and with a lot of efficiency. Individuals have been really disturbed by the rise in prices of power and by their high expenses. In order to cater these issues, wind generators are the perfect solution.

Even though wind generators appear to be an old concept, these days the advanced windmill generators are way more powerful and efficient than the ones that were put to use in the old days. The best part regarding these windmill generators is that you can even build these things at your own house without too much of a hassle. All you need to do is go to your nearest hardware store and obtain a few components that are required to construct a wind generator.

When you are looking to build a windmill generator you have to be sure that the generator that you will build will be able to support your entire home and the wind flow and the breeze is constant in your area. Windmill generators operate on wind and, certainly, if there is no wind then there isn’t any point in installing one. A wind speed of 5-15 mph is the ideal wind mill speed for a wind generator.

The federal government had actually started a project which experimented with different types of wind generators so that they can build a wind turbine that would be really cheap and very effective and they were able to attain that by scientific research.

If you need to save money then the greatest idea would be to construct your own windmill. You will be able to purchase the spare parts inexpensively this way and the total cost of the wind turbine will be a lot less than what you would have if you purchased a new windmill generator. Many people think that making a windmill generator would be quite challenging but actually it is not.

You have many wind generator building manuals available in the market these days. Or you may also get one at your local library. Those guides will teach you to easily build a windmill generator. An excellent windmill manual will guide you through all the essential steps and educate you on the things needed to build a wind generator.

Government Stimulus Feeds New Fiber-Optic Projects

Posted by jakeandtycho - August 29th, 2010

Raw Fiber Optic CableWhen the history of 2010 is written, it will go down as a major year for the expansion of fiber optic technology in the United States. Here at Telecast—where sending signals over fiber and using the technology to our customers’ advantage is what we’re all about—we couldn’t be more encouraged.

All kinds of funding from the government stimulus program has begun to kick in across the country, with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) pushing for improved communications technology in rural communities for health care, education and other enterprises.

It all dates back to February 2009, when President Obama signed the 0 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law.

In Nebraska, for example, federal funding has been received for a new million fiber optic medical network. It’s part of the Rural Nebraska Healthcare Network (RNHN), a consortium of nine rural hospitals and related clinics in western Nebraska.

The funds were attained under the Rural Health Care Pilot Program of the FCC to connect the primary care hospitals with dozens of affiliated clinics. The project will create one of the most advanced and robust medical technology networks in the nation. A planned completion date is set for fall of 2011.

The University of Hawaii has received funding totaling 5 million to provide broadband fiber optic connectivity and wireless connections, and to conduct research and training primarily in the scientific and health-related fields.

In Michigan, the REACH Michigan Middle Mile Collaborative will build 1,017 miles of open-access, advanced fiber through rural and underserved communities in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. It will connect 44 community anchor institutions as the network is built and will pass 391 more over time.

The program also engages three sub-recipients from the private sector—ACD.net, LYNX, and TC3 net—to make broadband readily available to households and businesses that lack adequate service options in the 33 counties that make up the project service area.

Maryland will get 5 million in federal stimulus money to build a high-speed broadband Internet system that will link Oakland to Ocean City. The grant, the second largest of its kind in the country to date behind one received by West Virginia, will help Maryland connect the patchwork of fiber-optic networks that currently run through each of its 24 jurisdictions.

The broadband funding will result in vastly improved Internet speeds for local government offices, schools, hospitals and emergency communication networks across Maryland. More than 1,200 miles of new fiber optic cable will be installed across the state—a 50 percent increase over the existing network capability.

“This broadband grant will build a super information highway where broadband has not gone,” Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, a Maryland Democrat, told the Baltimore Sun. “Now we’re going to be a zoom-zoom digital superhighway.”

Of course, we’d all like to see some government stimulus for our business specifically. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

Telecast Zooms In on Fiber Systems for Cameras

Posted by jakeandtycho - August 28th, 2010

Point of View (POV) Camera using fiber optic cablingWhen people in the field ask me how is Telecast technology is different from other fiber optic vendors in the video production industry, I don’t bore them with the long list of features that our products offer. I talk about how well we understand professional video cameras. And I mean video cameras of all sizes and format types: robotic cameras, ENG camcorders, studio cameras, and top-of-the-line e-cinema cameras.

We are the clear leaders in fiber systems for acquisition applications. That’s why our products are used wherever a camera has to be connected to a remote location, whether it is underwater, in the air, or on the ground. They’re designed to work in tandem with virtually every type of acquisition device (i.e. camera) and built for the specific environment they will be operated in, reliably transferring signals to and from the field or studio set.

It’s really that simple, and yet it’s a more sophisticated approach than other companies in this space take. When it comes to adding fiber capabilities to camera systems, we believe that you need camera-specific solutions, not off-the-shelf commodity products. At least that’s what my colleagues and friends in the business tell me. [Believe me, it sometimes keeps me up at night, trying to figure out how we can do it better.]

Our most popular camera products, such as the POV Link, Copperhead, and SHED are used for sports, feature film production, and live presentations. The POV uses two strands of fiber to transfer a robotic camera’s HD signal in one direction,  genlock back to the camera as well as data streams for full control of the camera and the pan/tilt/zoom head.  When using a camcorder for EFP applications (and a live camera operator), the Copperhead 3200 is usually the right choice because it adds return video, intercom, audio, a prompter feed and various  controls (for painting the camcorder and iso recording in the field).   Other CopperHead systems have features specific to other applications: the “Pro for big-screen “I-Mag” production, the 3050 for ENG live trucks, and the 3400 for 3D and high-speed applications

The SHED system is the broadcasters’ choice for freeing HD Studio cameras from the limitations of SMPTE Hybrid fiber, and allowing these cameras to be used with tactical fiber cable or through buildings or campus’ fiber optic infrastructures.

Whether you are using a remotely controlled POV or security camera, a shoulder-mountable ENG camcorder, or a large digital 2D or 3D cinema rig on a movie set, we can reduce your set up time, give you more flexibility to move the camera around (or locate it in places you couldn’t before) and give your crew full two-way communications through the same single fiber cable. It’s sounds simple, but it’s a bit difficult to get right. We help you be more efficient and streamline your workflow. No other vendor can do that. Just ask people in the business, they’ll tell you the same thing.

Our staff is made up of former production people who know what it takes to get the job done. We also worked very closely with all of the various camera manufacturers and system integrators to understand their issues and how they want to present their products and services to their customers. This strategy has worked wonders for things like the new custom CopperHead fiber system for the JVC GY-HM790 ProHD camcorder, or creating the CopperHead 3400 for 3D camera rigs while also making it suitable for Inertia Unlimited’s “X-Mo” ultra slow-motion Phantom camera system.

Whether it’s SD, HD, 3-D production and everything in between, Telecast has a fiber optic system for whatever camera you are using that can help you capture the moment and tell the story cost-effectively and highly efficiently. Remember, most times you don’t get a second chance to “get” the shot. At Telecast Fiber Systems, we get it… every time.

How to Design a Highly Converting Video Sales Page

Posted by jakeandtycho - August 26th, 2010

casino bonus Videos are sweeping the Internet and revolutionizing the way people consume content. A couple of years ago before sites that YouTube existed, videos were not used a lot. This is because the speed of the internet was slow and trying to stream videos while they were buffering did not make for a good experience for the user. But with today’s technology and the warp net speeds, you can find video everywhere. This is the number one reason why internet marketers choose videos to revamp their sales pages. If you are not new to online marketing, you are aware that the best internet marketing gurus have chosen to utilize video sales pages instead of print sales copies. The goal of this article is to describe what necessary steps you must take to get a video sales page that is successful. First and foremost, have more control over your video. Do not become influenced by the things that do not really make a difference. In other words, it is imperative that your video sales page has an increasing momentum. Your potential customers must be able to identify with your message and make a purchase decision. They should not close the web page overwhelmed and bewildered. For example, if you were to create a regular sales copy, would you not focus on how it’s flowing from paragraph to paragraph? You have to also make sure that your video pages flow too. This is so that your prospect is not bewildered or perplexed by your promotional message. Secondly, if you want to do your own video and talk directly to your potential customers, ensure that you appearance is up to par. This should be common sense. Simply put, you are the sales representative for the product or service that you are advertising. So, if you do not come across as being a professional, you will not get a lot of positive results. How you represent yourself and the product is an important part of how your prospects will respond to your message. For example, if you view the video pages of IM expert Frank Kern, you will discover that while his message is informal , his appearance remains very professional. Not only is your appearance important, but also things such as the background video. So remember to focus on these things too. Last, add some flavor to your videos. It is easy to just product a video. But, this is not always the right thing to do. You obviously do not want to risk your potential customers overlooking your message. But, at the same time by putting a bit of entertainment into your video cannot really hurt things. This maybe something as simple as adding some background music. Or, you may want to think about adding things such as food, dance or pets. Do not be too afraid to experiment just because you are producing a video. The more you experiment with different types of elements, the better results you will receive. All in all, from the above article we see that every video sales page is different. But, the basics are always the same. If you choose to have a video sales pages with an extremely high conversion rate and people who cannot wait to get a hold of your product, then you have plenty of hard work to do. You cannot think that you will put up a video on your sales pages and get automatic results. Work on it and you will become successful.

Fiber Optic Video Transmission is Booming While Waiting for an Even Bigger Boom

Posted by jakeandtycho - August 25th, 2010

Hospital operating rooms in cinemas, Traffic Control Center to become high quality video is ubiquitous, and in a growing number of demanding applications, optical fiber cables, such as the distribution vehicle choice.

IP networks and opportunities for content distribution on Cat-5 and other simple, low cost cabling, have been much attention in recent years. However, more and more users and developers and integrators that are used these days to decide that the benefits of fiber can not simply be denied.

And even as businesses in the commercial, industrial, governmental and educational surges, watching the players with the anticipation of growth much higher than could follow if the slowdown in the development of the fiber to the home (FTTH) buildout gathers steam this year as expected by many.

Verizon has a plan for billion spent on stringing fiber to six million customers in 2006 announced the land cost. French Telecom, Alcatel continues its acquisition of Lucent, is a dynamic player in FTTH. Telecoms see a greater capacity of new fiber as the key to the so-called “triple play”, the ability to offer voice, data, video and consumer on a connection.

Defenders of fibers, perhaps the future growth similar to past experience through the projection and display markets LCD, plasma and rear-projection TV Mainstream a sudden jump of thousands of units sold per year, tens of millions.

But few companies in the fiber to wait. In fact, according to Fred Scott, Vice-President, Broadcasting and fiber products for GE Pro AV, while many other market segments are booming in the here and now, FTTH is just testing the waters.

Scott gives the example monitoring. “There is an overwhelming need to begin now to see what happens everywhere in the subway stations, bus terminals,” he said. “All these monitoring devices in many cases to a central area of a fiber run-Feed. ”

military users are also committed to large-scale networks of optical fiber, according to Scott. “There are a number of institutions that have pulled all its control rooms on the optical fiber,” he said. “The number one reason for this is no one to monitor or tap into the signal content . Government, research, and others must be supplied with fiber insulation in the region, or a rack of equipment to another. ”

Don Hosmer, National Sales Manager at VOSCOM, also refers to security as a powerful attraction of the fiber. “We can not look at the data onto the fiber, without physically touching the wire,” he commented.

The quality problems are often just as important, and account for the rise in another area of CITES Hosmer strong growth: medical imaging. “Everything is moving dramatically to high definition,” said Hosmer, while applications such as video-endoscopy, surgical video, and telemedicine.

“] [In these applications, you need to maintain color accuracy, and if you compress the video you may have to be a problem,” Hosmer said, adding that uncompressed video data via fiber travel.

A fundamental decision on the users of each network is whether the network components wired together or connect them with a strategy based on the Internet. For direct connection of sites, premises and facilities, the choice often comes down to coaxial cable or fiber optics. Many organizations will have many other activities that may interfere with electronic signals over networks of coaxial or twisted pair, but not in the fiber.

“Fiber gives a solution for a variety of institutions that have problems when you try to perform any type of copper solution,” said Scott. “Committees Dimmer electricity, lighting, might affect an entire copper plant, but if you do it on the fiberglass, it is no problem.”

As the fiber makes its way into the business more and more, technology can also misunderstood Ace in the Hole. Hosmer recalls: “In the dot-com era, the people of telecommunications has attracted lots and lots of fiber.” The “dark” fiber was left, like many of his owner went bankrupt, he said, but TODAY ‘Today, “it is always there, ready to be lit.

SVG League Technology Summit a Success For The Industry and Telecast

Posted by jakeandtycho - August 22nd, 2010

Last week I was at the Sports Video Group’s League Technology Summit in New York City and I think nearly half of the 700 broadcast professionals (representing sports networks, mobile production companies and independent sports producers and technicians) that attended stopped by our exhibit booth to say hello and have a look at our first official showing of the Copperhead 3400 on a working 3-D rig in the US.

With the emerging 3-D and 1080p/60 formats being increasingly discussed in sports production circles, the extra bandwidth provided by the Copperhead 3400 is hitting the market at exactly the right time. Or, so I was told by virtually everyone who played with the rig and offered their (mostly appreciated) opinions during the two days of the conference.

The 3-D world is still very nascent, and the jury is still out on whether it will be successful with the general public or not, but if it does fly, production companies seem poised to do it.

3Ality Beam Splitter rig with CopperHead 3400At the SVG conference we showed a 3400 on a 3Ality Digital TS-5 beam splitter rig with two Sony P1 cameras, although our Copperhead can be used with any camera or rig. I want to say thank you to Matt Battaglia, chief engineer of 3D Camera Systems at 3Ality Digital, who has been very supportive of our Copperhead and how it can help users of his company’s “TS-5” rig (which can be handheld) streamline their productions.

“If 3-D is going to be practical, production companies have to find products like the Telecast Copperhead that will make their projects, in terms of set up and signal transmission back to the truck, go so much smoother,” Battaglia, said.

The other thing that generated excitement was our Copperhead 3200 fiber optic transceiver, which we showed mounted on a Panasonic HPX-370 camcorder. A number of regional truck companies said they need this type of fiber solution for their less expensive camcorders in the field. This helps them maximize the value of their cameras, so they can be used in the field or in a multi-camera studio setting.

The SVG awards ceremony was also a highlight for me, as many of my favorite sports icons, both in front of the camera and behind it, were inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame. Popular CBS announcers John Madden and Pat Summerall were two of my favorites.

They were joined by Leonard Chapman, CEO of Chapman/Leonard Studio Equipment; Davey Finch, CBS’s lead handheld cameraman for the last 30 years; Geoffrey Mason, who currently works for ESPN, but his career extends back to the formative years at ABC Sports where he worked from 1968 to 1988; John Roché, who has been with NEP Supershooters for 20 years and has served as Technical Manager for some of the largest live television events; Chester “Chet” Simmons, who served as president of NBC Sports, was the first CEO of ESPN, and founded the United States Football League; and the late George Steinbrenner, principal owner and managing partner of the New York Yankees from 1973 – 2010.

I have to say a good time was had by all.
